School Visits

General information

I have given presentations and workshops on a variety of topics, and always take into consideration the age level of my audience as well as multiple learning styles and abilities. I can do assemblies, grade-level presentations, mini-lessons for selected grade levels or classes on requested writing topics, or a combination of the above. As a former school counselor (I am certified K-8), I am comfortable and accustomed to working with students, teachers, and staff.

Fees

$350 half day; $500 full day, anywhere in the greater St. Louis area, or within an hour's drive. (Special rate if more than one school in a district schedules a presentation.)

An hourly rate of $100 an hour (two-hour minimum) is available for special school events such as literacy night, young authors' night, book fair, Grandparents' Day, PTA/PTO meetings, PDC workshops, etc.

Rates are slightly higher for visits outside the St. Louis area, but will include travel expenses.

Grade Levels

Elementary school is best, given the age-level of my books, but I've done workshops for middle-school and high-school students, as well as for teachers, librarians, and school counselors.

Home-schoolers

Fee based on day rate or per-student rate. Tell me what you're looking for and I'll do my best to accommodate your needs. I am flexible and willing to travel.
